My Livejournal=========================================================================================================================================
You might already be familiar with my blog on livejournal
[link] . My original plan was to post random things there about art, ideas, fashion, lolita, and whatever. Recently I've decided to put all shame aside and stop being a closet lolita. I've actually become quite comfortable with wearing a huge petticoat and having people stare at me when I'm out in the streets (actually, I get a high from people staring XD). And I think that what I enjoy the most about the whole thing is that I might be the only lolita in my town. Unfortunately, that means that I don't have any "lolita friends", but I can live with that. I like being the only "special" person around. XD
So I was looking through some Livejournal communities for inspirations for lolita coordinates and such and I came across one community, Daily Lolita
[link] , where girls post pictures of their coordinates for everyone to see and get critique on them and I've been wanting to post my coordnates there too and see what feedback I get. I know that when you post on blogs like these, you are bound to get a negative comment eventually, or come across some nasty people that will troll you to death. I don't mind that. I'm aware that it's the internet and people have free speech, and if they want to say something sucks, well, go right ahead. I'll just ignore the comment and go my merry way (so glad there's a "delete comment" option on Livejournal). Fortunately, I've been doing a whole lot of lurking there and everyone seems so nice and helpful. All of the comments I've seen are things like "you look adorable", "That's cute!", or "I love the second coord better, but all in all they're gorgeous".
I've been really busy with work and getting ready for Khaotic Kon next month that I haven't had any time to take pictures of myself all dolled up, therefore haven't had the chance to post anything on there. So I was lurking about 2 nights ago and I come across one of the newest posts from a girl dressed in otome-kei. Otome-kei is inspired by lolita fashion, but it is not lolita. It doesn't have the same sillhouette or adheres to any of the strict rules of lolita. I should know. I've been wearing otome-kei as my every day style since 2008, but I didn't even realize it until just recently. Being Daily Lolita a "lolita" forum (or whatever you want to call it), I thought it was strange that someone would post otome-kei on there instead of going to another forum specialized in otome-kei like Daily Otome on Livejournal
[link] . And since Livejournal is not like DA groups, where there is an admin that filters what goes in or what gets declined, people can pretty much post whatever they want on there. Still, I took the time to view all of her photos (there were quite a few), and sure, they were adorable.
Most of the comments I read where the typical "That's so cute!", but I also noticed some other members were confused and asked her "is this lolita?" or "I've seen this style before. Does it have a name?". So in an effort to help those who were confused, I commented on her post and I said "This is not lolita. The skirts are too short and they're missing a petticoat. This is a style called Otome-kei." That part of my comment was meant for the people that were asking and I think that was clear. Then I added " Still, you look super cute. Hope to see more otome coordinates from you soon." Well, next thing I know, she replies to me in a really nasty way and accuses me of "lecturing" her about what lolita is and what it isn't. Then she told me that I shouldn't even be talking because I hadn't even posted any of my own photos to the community yet and that for my information, she had been doing lolita since 2009 and had just recently decided to switch to otome because she wanted a more mature look, so she already knew what otome was and didn't need me to tell her. Basically telling me to STFU because she has more experience than me with the fashion and she's older than me and she's married. I explained to her that the comment hadn't been meant for her. That I was just trying to help some of the people that were asking. I reminded her that I had complimented her on her clothes, but that I regreted it now, seeing how angry she was. Imagine how super angry she would've been if I had trolled her and said that her clothes were ugly, or if I had just outright told her not to post her otome on a lolita website.
Anyways, I told her that I honestly hadn't meant for her to get upset and i thought she'd understand. Next thing I know she sends me this huge list of "how to comment on a forum post" that included things like going back to the person's personal blog and reading their profiles and all the past blog entries they had written to know exactly how much experience they have with the style or whatever. Now I was aggravated. First of, I told her, you've got 700+ blog entries. I'm not going to take the time to read through all of them bofore commenting a simple "that's cute" on one of your photos. I mean, how many people do that?! 0_0 Second, most (at least 95%) of what you have written in your blog is in German. You need to keep in mind that there's people on this site from all over the world. How am I going to understand what you're saying if I don't speak/read German? If you're expecting people to do a "background check" on you before commenting on your posts, at least write it in english, which is what most people can understand. Unless you're expecting me to use Google Trnslate to find out what you're saying. Give me a break! Then I explained to her why I hadn't posted anything on the site myself. Because I had just joined the community recently and I hadn't had time to take pictures of myself in lolita because of work, because unfortunately not all of us go to art school. Some of us graduate young and have to get hard-working night-shift nursing jobs (off course, those are not the exact words I used. I tried to be polite, but still get my point across). also I told her that I hadn't "lectured" anyone. On the contrary, she was the one lecturing me. Telling me how to post on a forum... Please!
Then she tells me that she hadn't been offended by my comment and that she had actually found it hillarious. That I should go do my research before commenting about something that I have no idea about (lolita fashion and otome-kei), and then she reminds me about how she's been doing lolita for 3 years and stuff.
So as my final words to her, I tell her that if it's about "how long i've been doing it" I've got the upper hand here because eventhough I haven't been wearing lolita as long as her, I've been researching the style since I was a junior in high school (2006), and that I've actually taken the time to learn about the fashion in depth before wearing it and that way I already have a good idea of what is and isn't lolita, decreasing my chances of doing it wrong. As for otome-kei, I've been wearing it already for far longer than her. Then I said "let's just leave it at that."
She must've been really pissed because she deleted the whole conversation. If she didn't like my first comment, she could've deleted it then and avoided all this drama. That's what I do whenever I get comments that I don't like, but oh well... guess she thought she could sharpen her claws on me.

Oh! so, the point is, now I really want to post on Daily Lolita, but I'm sure the fool will have an eye out for me. As soon as I post something she'll probaby prance on me with a mean comment regardless of whether she likes my coord or not (vengeance? XD). Especially since I don't own any brand clothing. All of my clothes are hand made. She might say something mean about that just for bitching (excuse the word)...So I've decided to just create a new account and start fresh. That way she won't know it's me and maybe I can get to know her good side. can't deny that her style is super cute!
On a more cheerful note: I baught a cotton candy machine that turns ordinary and "sugar free" hard candies into cotton candy. Can't wait for it to get here so I can try it out.
